Virtual Futures presents the first New York City edition of Near-Future Fictions.

Continuing our mission to reassert the significance of science-fiction as a tool for navigating our interactions with technology in the future, the event aims to bring together American and English writers to delve beneath the Big Apple’s luminescent veneer.

Tim Maughan
Freelance journalist and author, writer of the collection Paintwork, and Winner of the 2015 Seahorse Club award for Supply Chain Journalist of The Year.

Joanne McNeil
Writer, editor and critic who has contributed to the New York Times and Rhizome. Joanne won the Arts Writing Fellowship Award Winner, and is the author of After the Eclipse on Paragon Hill. 

Brendan C. Byrne
Fiction author and critic, who’s work has appeares in the Baffler, Rhizome, Terraform and Flapperhouse.

Jennifer Marie Brissett
Science Fiction author who’s debut novel Elysium was the winner of the Philip K. Dick Award Special Citation, and who’s short stories have been published in The Future Fire and Terraform.
